Monday, August 15 The flood Yesterday the Ping River flooded. Today I went out to take some photos. A lot of the water had receded, leaving debris and mud on the road. Many shops were pumping water out into the street to get back to business. Some of the lower areas are still flooded, including many streets and all of the riverside restaurants. The river is wide and brown, exactly level with the banks. It makes the south part of town even more of a maze when trying to get around.
