A Free Man

As of today, I’m no longer working full time. It feels good. Really good.

Work wasn’t making me happy anymore, despite being surrounded by friendly people, comfortable space, okay projects, free bagels and addictive foosball.

Leaving all this is a happiness gamble, and I hope taking control of my daily life creates a balance that helps my personal projects thrive and work not define my life.

Or maybe I’ll just end up lost and depressed.

I’m not getting out of advertising, but for now I’m excited to start earning money through freelancing. The life of a cash army soldier isn’t one of production, but of money, connections, experience, and time.

I will become a big money hustler.

But first I’m going to devote a solid month to something personal. Hopefully by then, I’ll know if it will work. But this is a long term task, and one that might wean me off the bittersweet teat of advertising.

Goals in no particular order, except the first:

  • Secret personal project.
  • Photography.
  • New Dordles, and figuring out what to do with the cards.
  • Website tweaks.
  • Blogging.
  • Traveling domestically and internationally.
  • Not getting depressed.
  • Lose some weight.
  • Cooking more.

Go!
